The call for grants for education and awareness-raising projects for development is open

Aid reaches 80,000 euros and is aimed at NGOs, groups, foundations and associations and, for the first time, at universities and research centers

The Ministry of the Presidency, through the Directorate General of the European Union, External Action and Cooperation, has opened the deadline for the presentation of education projects and actions and awareness-raising activities for development and global citizenship in the Region of Murcia, to the year 2019, whose term will end next June 3.

The grants, of a total amount of 80,000 euros, are aimed at projects of non-governmental organizations for development (NGDO), groups, foundations and associations in this field.

This year, for the first time, the call is also extended to universities and research centers and it is possible for several entities to jointly present a single proposal.

Another novelty is that they can opt for 8,000 euros maximum per project, if presented individually, and up to 10,000 euros if presented in a consortium of several entities.

Counselor Pedro Rivera pointed out that "these programs try to guarantee an inclusive, equitable and quality education, as well as promote learning opportunities for all and, for that, we create alliances between the regional government, the private sector and civil society with the aim to join efforts that allow us to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN in its 2030 Agenda ".

The programs, projects and educational and awareness-raising actions for development will have as a priority objective to make known the reality of the most impoverished countries and education in the values of international cooperation for development;

the dissemination of the lines of action and goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, established by the UN to alleviate situations of inequality in the world;

the knowledge of the Master Plan of International Cooperation for the Development of the Region of Murcia 2019-2022;

as well as the creation of solidarity networks and research in this field.

These helplines, published today by the BORM, were the result of prioritization through the participatory budgeting process of the Region of Murcia.
