The Region participates in the fair 'Go Expo' to consolidate the arrival of Nordic golfers

The Institute of Tourism has organized a promotional tour for 2019 by the main specialized fairs of Denmark, Finland and Sweden

The Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia has presented this weekend the entire range of regional golf at the 'Go Expo', a three-day event that takes place from last Friday 15 to today, March 17, in the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Center.

The fair is a perfect showcase to show the public and professionals all the resources available to the destination.

The Finnish market has great potential, since it concentrates around 150,000 golfers, who will make 300,000 trips a year related to this sport.

For this reason, the Tourism Institute has participated in this fair three consecutive years, and has attended in this edition with Roda Golf, Sheraton Hacienda del Alamo Hotel, Lorca Golf Course, Ugolf and GNK co-exhibitors, representing the majority of golf areas of the Region.

This performance is part of a promotion tour by the Nordic Countries that will allow the Region to participate in the main specialized fairs of Denmark (Danish Golf Show), Finland (Go Expo) and Sweden (Nordea Masters), and that is going strengthen with several operations that will generate 2,600 overnight stays.

The objective of this initiative is to consolidate the arrival of Nordic golf players, traditionally considered this as the second market for golfers in the Region, and compensate for a possible flight of British players by the Brexit.

The Region has a high level offer distributed in the areas of Murcia, Águilas, La Manga and Mar Menor, comprising 18 18-hole courses, 2 9-hole courses and 2 Pitch & Putt;

facilities with cutting-edge designs and high-quality complexes.

The main differential advantage proposed by the destination are its many hours of sunshine in the months of autumn and winter and a complementary offer that includes culture, festivals, leisure, wine, gastronomy and nautical, as well as the concept of 'City golf', through the which and taking advantage of the proximity between the golf courses and the main cities of the Region, these last ones are considered as places in which the players can lodge.

In addition to practicing golf during the day, this modality offers the option of being able to go shopping in the urban area, visit restaurants and access all the leisure services offered by urban areas.
