The agrarian and socioeconomic sector starts the sectoral tables of the new basin hydrological plan

Institutions, companies and individuals make contributions to the third planning cycle of the Segura Demarcation

The Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS), a body under the Ministry for the Ecological Transition, held this morning the first of the sectoral tables to encourage active participation in the third cycle of hydrological planning of the Segura basin, a document that will validity between the years 2021-2027.

This process has begun with the table of the agricultural and socioeconomic sector, which has gathered at the headquarters of the Confederation representatives of communities of irrigators, agricultural associations, trade unions and business and professional colleges and universities.

This meeting will be followed by another, next week, which will discuss the supply and sanitation, the environment and coastal waters, all of which are vital for hydrological planning.

Hydrological planning is the fundamental tool for the management of water resources.

Its main objectives are to achieve the good state of water bodies and prevent their deterioration, as well as to promote the sustainable use of water, meeting current and future demands and guaranteeing their quality.

It also helps to prevent the effects of extreme events such as floods and droughts.

Participation of society

In addition, the CHS has communicated to social agents, administrations, representatives of associations and individuals, who have requested their participation through their inclusion in the register of Interested Parties of the possibility they have again, to make contributions in the process of public consultation of the documents 'Program, Calendar, General Study on Demarcation and Consultation Formulas'.
