During the meeting, Martinez has raised the demands of the Chamber of Cartagena, the oldest of those that exist in Spain, a pioneer in exporting products and that has thousands of associates in the region.

Martinez has pointed out that the region of Cartagena has everything necessary to be an economic pole of the first order, but he recalled that for this to be possible it requires the commitment of all, starting with a fairer budget for Cartagena.

In addition, the president of the Cartagena Chamber has also referred to the need to encourage and facilitate the construction of hotels, the opening of the city to its port or the reduction of bureaucracy when dealing with any new business.

Alberto Garre, has pointed out that the Chambers of Commerce are essential for the economy of the regions and therefore "what you have to do is take care of them".

The best way to structure the Region is to give more powers to the Chambers of Commerce "and has indicated that for Somos Región," the District of Cartagena is essential for the wealth of the entire Region.

That is why we believe that the Government of the Autonomous Community should guarantee fair and equitable treatment with a very important area.

In Somos Region we bet from the beginning to endow Cartagena with a law of capitality that guarantees a budget that prevents the generation of grievances. "

On the other hand, the candidate of Somos Cartagena – Somos Región to the mayor of the city, Pedro Sabiote, has referred to the announcement made by the City Council of the reactivation of the so-called Plan Rambla.

"We are happy that investments come to the city, but we must bear in mind that all businessmen must have the same treatment and the same opportunities on the part of the City Council."
